I vary rarely leave reviews, but I felt like my positive experience with Airview definitely warrants it. I have had to work with a half dozen different varieties of tradesman over the last 4 years I've owned this house and far and away, this company has been the most honest, most transparent, and fairest one I've worked with.
I called Airview out to take a look at my aging, decrepit HVAC equipment since I was starting to have issues with the coil freezing up. From my experience working on automotive air conditioning, I knew this was likely due to low refrigerant (and a leak), so I wanted to get their opinion. The technician they sent out did a very thorough inspection and showed me where the coil was leaking from, as well as pointing out that my heat exchanger was beginning to corrode. There was no doubt it was time to replace the system. I had been limping it along for 4 years and it was just time to send it to the scrapyard in the sky. The technician and I discussed the various equipment options, what would be best for my scenario and budget, and improvements that could be done to the rest of the system, such as the ducting. At no point did he try to upsell me into equipment I didn't need or scare me away from "lower tiered" options. It was really about what fit for my specific situation.
The installation went extremely smoothly, and the guys that were out here absolutely earned their keep. I wish I had "before" pictures to show the attic, because how it looks up there now is insane. The work they had to do to make the new system and it's large intake and exhaust plenums work was staggering; lots of new ducting, lots of hanging ducts and supports, new decking, tons of cleanup. They also installed two new returns to better balance out bedrooms that we've had cooling issues with. I was already plenty satisfied with the quote I was given, but this pushed it over the edge.
I did have one small issue after the installers left, but I called the office and they quickly sent a tech out (within an hour!) and he had us up and going within 15 minutes. It's been working great since.
I've worked in structured datacom in the past including commercial new construction and renovations, and I can tell when the guys doing work actually care about the end result. It's obvious these folks do, and I appreciate that they treated my home as their own and did the job right. At the moment it's 85 degrees out and we're thoroughly enjoying our new Trane 2 stage system. It's cool, and more importantly, DRY in here and we couldn't be happier. If you live in their service area, at least get a quote from these guys before you make your decision on an HVAC contractor.
