Trenton is a small city located in northern Texas. It sits about 20 miles south of the Red River which separates Texas and Oklahoma, and 60 miles north of Dallas. Trenton is located in Fannin and Grayson counties. According to the United States Census Bureau, there were approximately 639 people living in Trenton in 2016.

Original inhabitants of the area Trenton is located in were Native American Indians. Eventually, European-American settlers arrived in modern-day Trenton. The settlers arrived via wagon train from Tennessee in 1852. Following the arrival of Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railway in the vicinity, Dr. W.C. Holmes prepared a townsite and soon after Trenton became a community. In the late 1890s, the community was incorporated with a population of over 300 people.

Today, many businesses still operate in Trenton like the Bluebonnet Meat Company and Magers Food Store.
